Cultural Connections in Conservation
Explore the connection between Cultural heritage and the importance of biodiversity conservation. This workshop offers a unique opportunity for landowners to explore and contribute to the preservation of both Cultural and natural heritage.
Murray Native Seed Services is dedicated to the conservation and restoration of native plant species within the Murray region. This initiative focuses on the collection, processing, and distribution of high-quality native seeds for revegetation projects and local nurseries. Guest speaker, Tash Lappin will provide an overview of the work they have completed at ‘Allandale’.
The Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) operates a revolving fund as an innovative mechanism to protect and conserve high-value biodiversity on private land across New South Wales. This fund works by purchasing properties with significant conservation values, placing them under permanent protection through in-perpetuity conservation agreements, and then reselling them to conservation-minded buyers. Guest Speaker Dieuwer Reynders will discuss the due diligence undertaken by BCT when a culturally significant site is identified on a BCT property.
The Cultural tour will take approximately one hour, participants will be walking for the duration of the tour.
