Barellan Clydesdales

Just 56 kilometres north of Narrandera on the Burley Griffin Way, Barellan is known as the home of tennis legend Evonne Goolagong-Cawley.

Situated on the Burley Griffin Way 56 kms north of Narrandera, Barellan is noted for its warm hospitality and the can-do attitude of its residents. Barellan is the home town to tennis great Evonne Goolagong-Cawley, who grew up and learned to play tennis in Barellan.

This little community boasts some excellent attractions such as the Barellan Museum, the Big Tennis Racquet, Clydesdale Statue and the CWA Rest House. The town is well worth a stop to embrace the real spirit of a country village.

Each year Barellan hosts the Barellan Masters Games, held on the last weekend in February, a celebration of sports aimed at the ‘older’ generation with something for everyone.

Over the October long weekend the Barellan Working Clydesdales and Heavy Horses “The Good Old Days” Weekend is on, featuring displays and competitions of working Clydesdales and heavy horse teams.
