PS Wagga Wagga

Step back in time with a visit to the remains of the PS Wagga Wagga, the last paddle steamer to cruise the Murrumbidgee River. For 40 years, it carried timber, wool, and provisions between Mildura and Wagga Wagga. Sadly, in 191   3, the steamer sprung a leak and ran aground on a sandbar, left to slowly fade into the river's history.

Today, you can catch a glimpse of this iconic wreck from the viewing platform where informational signage tells the story of its journey. Just a heads-up — it's best to visit when water levels are low to get a look at the wreck itself.

A true piece of local history, the PS Wagga Wagga remains a reminder of the river’s once-thriving paddle steamer days.
