About
Standing tall alongside the Murrumbidgee River is the red brick tower of the former Oakbank Brewery, one of Narrandera’s most distinctive landmarks. At ninety feet high, it’s hard to miss and even harder not to imagine the bustling industry it once represented. In its prime between the 1890s and mid-1920s, the brewery was a hub of activity with an impressive capacity of 20,000 gallons of stout and beer. Each day it could produce 10,000 bottles of beer and 15,000 bottles of cordial. Today, the ruins stand quietly on private property.
